  • Rescued this guy/gal off of a roof, currently in my bathroom. HELP
  • Apparently this little dude has been on a roof near my co-worker for 5 days and couldn't get down. I'm going to be taking him to the vet tomorrow for a chip check, exam, and anything else he needs. In the meantime, I have him in our secondary bathroom with food and
  • water and separated from my other cat! I totally thought I would be prepared for this day to come, but the little questions are making me concerned for his comfort! Do I leave the bathroom light on or off? Or get a little lamp? Should I put a fan in there? It's not any warmer than the rest of the apartment.
  • Should I peak in every so often or leave them alone all night? I'll be doing my due diligence and posting around on Facebook pages and even Reddit neighborhood pages but in the meantime I want him as comfortable as possible while also keeping my other cat safe! Any other tips or tricks would be appreciated!
  • UPDATE* on Rufio the Roof Kitty long post
  • Cheezburger Image 10526668544
  • Hi all! I wanted to give a post-vet update and try to bounce ideas to make him as comfortable as possible while looking for his home. HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS JUST KILL ME
  • So we've decided on the name Rufio for now and his vet visit went extremely well! This guy hisses from being nervous, but we were able to get a full exam done, 2 vaccines, and a bl d test. Little guy looked grumpy being held, but with enough Churu's
  • he took it all like a champ. This smelly little guy is still really reclusive under my bathroom sink, but today he has accepted the cat bed as my offering to make him cozy. Out next steps is to make him feel comfortable with us coming in the room, taking treats, and maybe even poking his head out more.
  • Changes made since my last post: I put in a long blanket to go over my sink to give him an extra sense of protection, but I take it down when I enter the room so he can see my movements and see what I'm doing. I added a night light, and soft music.
  • The room is starting to get smelly (poor guy) so I'm turning on the bathroom fan in small bursts of time, but I know he's gonna need at least a waterless bath soon. That'll make him feel much better and I think it'll help the musty smell as he starts getting
  • into a healthy diet. I want to start doing some smell swapping with my current cat and him, but my husband wants to wait for the bath to happen since we did find fleas. We were able to get medication for both cats but we just want to be extra cautious.
  • E Update 2: Rufio the Roof Kitty Awarded a Cat
  • EE
  • Rufio is doing great after being with us for 9 days today! His missing posts, ads, and community notifications seem to be loosing interest... So it's looking more and more like can confidently say we have a new family member. We've fully opened our apartment to him, introduced him to
  • our 13 year old other tuxedo boy, and they absolutely love each other's company and will run around for hours at night. Rufio will approach us a few steps for treats, will smell and lick our fingers, but still refuses to be pet or to come
  • out of his "drawer" when we interact with him. can tell that when the day comes, he's going to be a cuddly love- bug, but I'm so happy with his current progress. There's a reason he is so scared of humans, and I'm happy to go his
  • speed and still give him all the treats he deserves but sometimes I worry that we're rewarding him for hiding and what the next steps might be to help promote him wanting to interact with us, if that makes sense.
  • Any tips ongoing are ALWAYS appreciated. think we're in the 'getting comfortable' phase, but can maybe go a little further? Much love from Rufio

  • Hey guys! I'm here with a great update on my Rufio, the cat I rescued from a roof. It's been over a month now (July 4th was the marker) and we're keeping this sweet boy. This weekend really showed us how strong the bond between him and our senior kitty is. We went out of town for
  • Well it wasn't! Derp had a medical emergency at boarding yesterday. I had my cat sitter take him to the ER, did tests, images, and he's all good.. except he's just stressed out. He has NEVER been stressed out at his usual cat hotel, he loves it there. The drama queen missed his friend and he got immediately better once he was taken home. So here's some photos of the two lovebirds.
